Born and raised in the Bronx, Chris Perkel is best known for Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives (2017), opening night film at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival and winner of the 2017 Critics' Choice Award for Best Music Documentary.

He followed with Foreman (2017), about George Foreman's improbable heavyweight comeback for Epix, and Phenoms (2018), a five-part prime-time miniseries following the best young soccer players in the world for Fox.

Previously, he was an in-demand editor with notable works including Pearl Jam 20 (2011) for Academy Award-winner Cameron Crowe, The Real Rocky (2011) for ESPN's 30 for 30 series; and the Grammy-nominated Johnny Cash's America (2011) for Academy Award-winner Morgan Neville.
