Born in Cairo, Jamila Awad is an Egyptian actress who started her claim to fame in 2015 with a main role in the TV series Taht El Saytara. Jamila graduated from Modern Sciences and Arts University in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication.

Growing up in artistic household, Awad was always destined for fame. Her father Adel Awad is the first director to bring the concept of music video to the Middle East.

He also directed a slew of films including Crystal, Taht El Sefr and Al Akrab. Her mother Randa is a Lebanese actress who used to be popular in Egyptian cinema in the 80s and 90s.

Her grandfather Mohamed Awad is one of the biggest actors in the history of Egyptian cinema and theater. And her uncle Atef Awad is a dancer and a pioneer in the field of choreography.

Although she never admitted it to her family or friends, Awad always wanted to become an actress. Growing up surrounded by such talent in her life made it natural to her to be on stage and in the spotlight.

She started going on casting calls and appearing in a few commercials until she got a call to audition for Taht Al Saytra with famous Egyptian actress Nelly Karim who happens to be Awad's idol.

Awad landed the part of Hania a drug addict in a toxic relationship and it was a big hit. Egypt was talking about Hania/Awad and her amazing talent... Following the great success of Taht Al Saytra, Awad starred in the top three blockbusters of 2016 Hepta, Min 30 Sana and Laf W Dawaran.

2017 brought Awad back to TV with another hit role and another big TV series which was La Totfe' Al Shams.
