Kate was born in Wales and grew up in the seaside town of Tenby, Pembrokeshire. When she was 16 she attended Waterford Kamhlaba United World College in Swaziland where she studied the International Baccalaureate.
She studied at Bristol University and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
